GOOD EARTH is used for the late effects of antibiotic therapy or for allergies, diarrhea and immune deficiency. This preparation tonifies the Qi of the spleen, transforms Internal Wetness, stimulates food absorption, regenerates the intestinal flora, tonifies the immune system, alleviates diarrhea and stimulates the postnatal source of JING.
The TCM intestinal cleansing program focuses mainly on damp heat, fire toxins, food stagnation, tan deposits and blood stasis. After antibiotic treatment, the intestines have already been sufficiently cleansed and there is not the slightest need to use more purging procedures. Instead, the intestinal flora should be rebuilt, food absorption promoted and the Qi of the center tonified to prevent diarrhea or food stagnation with secondary dampness heat and toxin accumulation.
This is the actual function of GOOD EARTH, which is very different from QUICK and SLOW BELLY MOVEMENT, as these preparations have a dissolving and not a restorative or toning effect.
We should not forget that antibiotics injure the Qi of the Middle and often the Yang of the Kidneys, as their energy is very cold and thus they promote secondary dampness heat in the Lower Warmer. GOOD EARTH is very important in this context to preserve the post-natal source of Qi and Jing. (contains small amounts of gluten!!!!)
